FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Is it possible to order a pen (or pen/pencil set) in a wood type or color other than what is listed in the options?
The answer is "maybe." If there is a wood option in another style of pen on this site, you may send a request through the "contact us" section. I will review it and will send a response as to whether it can be done or not. If you have a specific wood type in mind and it is not on this site, I may still be able to locate that type - but it will come with an increased cost, if available.
2. I need 20 pens of the same type made within two weeks, is that possible?
Most likely not. It will depend on the number of orders already being filled and the wood availability. Remember, each pen or pencil is made one at a time.
3. I want two pens that look exactly alike, is that possible?
No two wood-based pens are ever exactly alike. Even the color and grain can be different on the same piece of wood. If the pens are made of a material such as acrylic (in a solid color) then you should be able to have that order fulfilled to your specifications, but I only work with wood at this time.
4. I tried to order a pen, but it is labeled as "sold out". Can I still order one of that kind?
It may be possible to order an item that is sold out. Contact us with your request and we should be able to give you a definite yes or no. It doesn't hurt to ask.
5. My pen needs a refill, how do I get one?
Good question. I do sell refills upon request. They can also be found online. The Slim pens use a Cross style while the other pens require a Parker-style refill. Contact us if you are unsure which refill is needed or how to change the refill. Be sure to let us know which pen you purchased.
6. My pen didn't come with instructions, how do I use it?
I have a page set up with the different styles of pens and how to use them. If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to contact us.
7. Will my pen look exactly like the picture?
No. Each pen is made individually by hand. There will be variances in the direction of the wood grain, slight color changes in the wood itself, and the exact location the piece was cut. There will never be two pens exactly alike, like fingerprints.
8. How long will it take to have a pen made?
The time it takes to make a pen will depend on the availability of the wood, parts needed for the order, and the number of orders being filled. It typically will take approx. two weeks to fabricate a Slim-type pen and three weeks to fabricate a more complex pen. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
