In the beginning...

Handcrafted Pens by Melita is a site started through the encouragement of friends and family who thought these products should be enjoyed by everyone.  

The very first pens were made on an old lathe that my father gave to me.  He want to give me a tool that would inspire me to pursue a hobby that I had an interest in, one that I thought would be different from my normal routine.  His gift gave me that start and I have really enjoyed making pens and mechanical pencils, so much so that I started showing them off to friends and family.  That, my dear visitor, is what lead to the development of this site and my new business.

So, now about my products...

Each pen is carefully crafted from a block or plank of Hardwood to a work of art.  These are not mass-produced, they are made one at a time.  Each one is unique, there are no two alike.  Just as there are no two trees that look exactly the same, there are no two pens, even from the same piece of wood, that are the same.

So, when you hold one of these pens in your hand, you know you have the only one of its kind.  We hope you enjoy them!
